Orlando Divorce Alimony
(Now handling Orange, Seminole & Osceola Counties)
Alimony, rehabilitative
alimony & lump-sum alimony is an important part of the
divorce process for most people. Alimony may be
awarded to either the husband or the wife depending on the
independent financial circumstances of the marriage.
Rehabilitative alimony is set up for a limited period of
time to assist in redeveloping the skills and
financial independence of the receiving spouse.
Permanent alimony last until the receiving spouse remarries
or until the death of either spouse. There are times
when a combination of rehabilitative alimony and permanent
alimony may be used depending on the circumstances.
Lump-sum alimony is where a one time lump-sum shall be paid
out to the receiving spouse. If an agreement cannot be
made by the parties involved than the Judge in your case
will end up being the final decision maker in your case.
The Judge will look at a variety of factors in determining
who shall receive what. The Judge will consider all
relevant factors such as: 1. economic factors, 2. prior
living standard, 3. length of the marriage, 4. age, 5.
physical condition, 6. mental & emotional condition, 7.
financial resources, 8. rehabilitative costs (school, job
training) , 9. services rendered in homemaking, 9. services
rendered in child rearing, 10. and any other relevant
factors necessary. Your attorney will go over all of
the issues relating to your specific case. We have provided you with attorney Michael Rathel's private cell phone number so that you can get a
hold of him with your questions at anytime.
